Dorota Jonkajtis

Between 1999 and 2005, she studied at the Faculty of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, graduating with distinction in 2005 from the Lithography Studio. Since 2005, she has been employed at her alma mater — initially at the Faculty of Painting in Professor Jerzy Hejnowicz’s Drawing Studio, and since 2009 at the Faculty of Graphics Arts in Fourth Graphics Studio. She was awarded scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2004) and from the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region in the field of culture (2007).

Her artistic practice encompasses graphic arts and drawing, often combining both media and treating printed impressions as material for further artistic processes. Writing and script constitute central motifs in her work, with particular emphasis placed on the creative process itself. Her projects are frequently inspired by literature and incorporate typographic elements or textual fragments.
